Curriculum

I don't know exactly what kind of curriculum the school uses but I guess it is some kind of international Curriculum due to their students' English books using Cambridge English. I think the curriculum is tremendously good because the materials that the teachers teach are quite challenging but provide interesting topics at the same time.

Teaching Plan


I made four teaching plans because i taught 3 different classes with 4 different topics. But i will only show two of my lesson plans. Here are my lesson plans:

  1. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:

a. to identify whether the statement uses past tense properly or improperly

b. to recognize the use of past tense in the sentence

c. to complete the sentence using the proper past tense statement

ACTIVITY 1.

DESCRIBE CHILDHOOD (10 MINUTES)

Work Individually. Each student describes their best childhood moment on the paper

  1. What was your best childhood moment?
  2. Why did it become your best childhood moment?
  3. Ask one of the students to read about their childhood moment in front of the classroom
  4. Get feedback

ACTIVITY 2.

Work individually. Read the conversation and choose the best answer. Write a letter (A-H) for each answer.

  • Ask students to exchange worksheets with other friends to check.
  • Ask several students to complete the sentences on the board.
  • Get feedback.

Micheal             : What did you buy? Anything interesting?

Betty                  : I got a new black jacket and then we went to look for a CD (F)

Micheal             : Which CD did you want to buy?

Betty                  : It’s called “Remembering”. Sally played it at her party last week (H)

Micheal             : Oh, I like that one, too. Who did you go shopping with?

Betty                  : Mum, my brother Richard and his friend Anna. I like her a lot. (D)

Micheal             : Did you go anywhere else in town?

Betty                  : Yes, to the bike shop because Richard wants to get a new one (E)

Micheal             : I need to buy some things. Will you come with me one day?

Betty                  : What about next Saturday? I could go then. (A)

ACTIVITY 3. PRACTISE

Work in pairs. Read and answer the questions according to the cards.

-             Ask the students to write a simple conversation using past tense.

Others

It was quite challenging to make my lesson plans because it was my first time to adjust with the curriculum. However, My supervisor helped me by giving advice and some revisions to make my lesson plans get better.
